Damian’s Hard Knocks School Of Hiring – Part 4 of 4

Time to bring you home.

You realized you need to hire someone to grow your investing business.

You followed my direction on WHERE to find them and HOW to place a highly effective ad that will help you recruit the best people possible.

And I even shared with you my personal interviewing techniques so you can find a real performer.

Last but not least, it’s time to hire!

If you think it’s just a matter of saying – “you’re hired!” – boy oh boy, you’re in for a rude awakening.

If you want to run your real estate investing business the right way, this is the MOST important step of the entire process. In fact, this is where the real work begins.

Watch closely and be sure you don’t fall into these all too common hiring pitfalls.

I have watched NUMEROUS business owners and even family members make some of the mistakes I am about to share and lose $1,000’s if not $10,000’s!!

Don’t let it happen to you.

These final words of wisdom I share are priceless and will set you up for hiring success now and into the future.

PS – A quick little tip of mine I forgot to include when I shot this final video.

Whenever possible, ALWAYS hire based on the project or task, not hourly.

Hourly employment, though sometimes necessary, is NOT the best way to get great productivity in results.

In fact, being paid hourly typically leads to job apathy, since no matter how fast they work or how good they do, or don’t do, their paycheck looks the same.

This is the last thing you want for your real estate investing business. So whenever possible, base the pay on the project or task not on the hourly. This will keep your employees motivated and efficient, and your bottom line profits growing and healthy :)

Best,

  1. Joe Tufo Says:

Having hired and fired thousands in the past 33 years I agree with your sage advice.

It’s so important to have a written job description and have the employee/independent contractor sign-off. I’ve been known to tape the interview (with permission, of course) and play it back when they don’t perform. I also religiously do quarterly reviews and have them evaluate themselves. We compare their evaluation and mine.

    Thanks Damian

I’ve hired a few people in my time and probably would have had slightly better results with a couple of your tips
it just goes to show it’s never to later to learn

Joe your post was insightful as well

    Cheers
